Sensory Training
Sensory Training – “Recognizing and Helping Children at Risk for Sensory Issues” Saturday, May 14th from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
We are excited to offer adoptive and foster families a 3 hour training with sensory specialist, Kathleen Morris. The training will take place at The Crossing, 3615 Southland Drive, Columbia, MO 65201. **THIS EVENT IS FREE AND CHILD CARE WILL BE PROVIDED BUT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!!!
Children who are adopted, and/or have experienced foster care, are at risk for sensory processing difficulties.
A parent’s biological children may be as well, but for different reasons. Many of these children do not respond, engage, focus or attach in the ways we might expect. Recognizing and addressing these issues is crucial in helping our children feel better about themselves as well as being accepted by peers and adults. This morning workshop will outline the symptoms of various types of sensory issues as well as give parents, caregivers and other family members ways to start to address, lessen stimuli and equip children to improve their, often puzzling, responses to the people around them and their environment.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose
